If you enjoy writing original superhero, science-fiction, fantasy, transformation, or supernatural stories, we'd love to see what you've got!
Writers keep 100% creative control and ownership rights. You get 20% of every sale. We'll host it. We do our own marketing. Here's everything you need to know:
- It's your story. You keep the rights to your own characters and original work.
- You have total creative control. You decide what happens, how it happens, when, where, and why. Our editors check for minor typos and formatting errors, but no one will tell you to change your story.
- You simply give us the right to host, publish, and sell your story on our website.
- You can host, publish, and sell your story anywhere else at the same time too, as long as they're okay with it being simultaneously sold here too.
- If you ever want or need to, you have the right to remove your story from our site at any time.
- There's NO set up charge or other fees. We don't charge you anything to be published on our site.
- We'll take a sample chapter, first episode, or other "preview" and make it free for prospective readers and potential fans to get a taste of your writing style and get hooked into your story. If they want to read the rest, they'll be directed to our shopping cart to buy and download the full ebook.
- We only make money when your ebook is sold. Every time your ebook is sold, you get 20% of the sale. For as long as it keeps selling.
- We'll handle all the hosting, marketing, sales transactions, and payments. That leaves you to just focus on what you love and do best—writing.
- We'll take a sample from your story and format it and integrate it into our website. No web design or HTML knowledge or skills are necessary. Just write an awesome story; we'll do the rest.
- There's no minimum or maximum story length. (But, of course, shorter stories typically sell for less.) Write whatever length feels "right" for your story.
- You are paid monthly for all sales made in the previous month. There's no minimum balance requirement. So even if your story only sold once and you only earned a couple bucks, you'll still get paid right away. (We know that in this economy, every dollar helps.)
We are not a vanity publisher. Meaning, we don't publish anybody and everybody. Because we're in business and we only make money when you do, we need to make sure your story is marketable and ready. Every submission is reviewed by a live human being. (So please be patient if you're waiting on a response.) If your work meets our standards, we'll contact you by e-mail and get you set up in our system.
When we only publish high-quality original works, it creates a win-win-win environment. Our customers and fans win, because they know that we only publish good stuff. That gives them reason to keep coming back to our website to check out all the newly published stories. You win, because your work isn't lost among thousands of other stories. You're among a limited select hand-chosen few. That gives you a much higher chance of making sales and making more sales. We win because we get to keep the profit after paying you, marketing and hosting costs, website maintenance, and other operational costs common with most businesses.
We're only looking for 4-5 writers right now. We accept on-going series, one-shot stories, short stories, novellas, novels, choose-your-own-adventure style projects, and other written works. Stories of any length are accepted. For your submission to be approved for publication, it must:
- Be complete.
- Be wholly original and your own work. Or at the very least, you own the legal rights to it, and can authorize us to publish and sell it for you. :)
- Be interesting.
- Be high quality, professional work.
- Fit in one or more of our target genres: superhero, science-fiction, fantasy, transformation, and supernatural fiction.
Adult content is approved, provided it's done with professionalism, artistic taste, and has purpose in the story. If your story has any content that some audiences may find offensive or inappropriate, please include that in your description and give your story an unofficial content rating (i.e., PG-13, etc).
If you're interested in getting published and selling your story through us, please send us an e-mail query letter at submissions@tudec.com. Give us your name and contact info, a brief synopsis (less than a page, please) of your story, and any content notice or rating that's appropriate. If we're interested, we'll get back to you soon and ask for a sample of your work. Remember, this is all done by humans and we're a new, small company...so thanks for your patience and understanding during this process.
If you ever have any questions about anything, feel free to contact us directly at go@tudec.com. Thank you — and good luck!
